The Andalusian Population Information System aims to map and characterize where and how the population
settles in the territory of this Autonomous Community.
This project has been approached with a double perspective and a double objective. On the one hand,
to identify, map and assign place names to all the places where the population is located in the
Andalusian territory and, on the other, to territorialize the INE Nomenclator on the most recent PNOA
orthophotography (published as Nomenclator: Population of the Continuous Register per Population
Unit). The link between both lines of work has made it possible to generate a continuous, codified
and updated reference base, which enables a more agile location of the population in the territory.
The results of these works are offered in this viewer, broken down into two clearly differentiated data sets.
Finally, it is important to point out that it is a living project, as alive as the population itself that leaves its mark
on the territory.
