Reference Cartographic Database of Andalusia (BCA) 1:10.000 is made up of topographic spatial data sets, obtained by means of stereo photogrammetric restitution of aerial images from 2010-2013. It is composed by the most relevant territorial elements: relief, infrastructure communication, hydrographic network, buildings, settlements, parcels, geographical names, etc. It is conceived as a spatial database to be exploited using GIS mapping tools or spatial database management systems, either for the production of maps or as an input to be integrated into a process of modelling through spatial analysis.
Reference Cartographic Database of Andalusia is the continuation of the project “Andalusian Vector Topographic Map 1: 10.000”, but with relevant technological improvements: 3D photogrammetric restitution of the structural elements and rigorous quality control procedures ensuring high accuracy. In relation to the object-oriented data model, there has been and increase in the number of elements (127). Currently only part of Andalusian territory is available with 2013 as its temporal reference.
