The monitoring of the current economic climate and the availability of information that allows to evaluate the future with as little uncertainty as possible is vital for economic agents.
The Statistical Institute of Andalusia, with the intention of answering to this necessity for information, wishes to contribute in the development of a leading indicator system of economic activity in Andalusia.
The International Workshop on "Leading Indicators for short term economic analysis in Andalusia" intends to be a meeting place and exchange between agents involved in the analysis of short-term trends in which a sample of important experiences in International circles will be presented, and with this, the most relevant projects which are being organised within the Spanish Statistics System.
The Workshop is of an essentially practical character dealing with the view point of applied methodology, and issues in leading indicators identification, and its selection, as well as its incorporation and use in short term trends analysis and the construction of composite indicators.
