Andalusian population statistics based on administrative records

Andalusian population statistics based on administrative records is an activity resulting from an experimental project of integration and reconciliation of sources whose purpose is the interconnection and statistical use of information from population-based administrative records.

This activity supplies data related to the population with registered residence in Andalusia based on the Longitudinal Database of Population of Andalusia (BDLPA) as the backbone infrastructure of the project, and providing information on the different individual situations collected in various administrative records of socioeconomic scope: demand for employment, affiliation to Social Security (or MUFACE) and perception of contributory pensions.

Based on the annual integrated population framework prepared in this project, a dissemination product is prepared consisting of a sample file of integrated microdata, dated January 1 of the corresponding reference year. To do this, a sample of family dwellings is extracted from the annual integrated population framework, from which all the people who are members are taken. This final sample of people (approximately 10% of the framework) allows both the analysis of the dwellings according to the characteristics of the individuals that compose them and the analysis of the population, all with different possibilities of geographical disaggregation.

In turn, this integrated microdata sample file dated January 1 of the reference year serves as a population framework for the extraction of three quarterly samples corresponding to April 1, July 1, and October 1 of the year prior to the reference year. In these samples, the extraction procedure consists of selecting those individuals present in the sample on January 1 of the reference year that are, in turn, included in the quarterly integrated population frames corresponding to the dates of April 1, July 1, and October 1 of the year prior to the reference year. This makes it possible to retrospectively monitor the population of the annual sample of January 1 of the reference year in the three previous quarters, as well as the study of the evolution throughout the year of the variables of a marked seasonal nature.
